My name is Madeline Sattler and I'm a senior journalism major at Northeastern University. I have a minor in Spanish and have been studying it since I was in middle school. That seems like a lot of time, but I feel I haven't learned as much as you would think in that period. Yes, I can understand some of the language, but through my classroom experience, I've come to the conclusion that it's impossible to learn Spanish by sitting in a room for three hours a week. So I realized I wanted to immerse myself more in the language. That brings me to Peru. I'm lucky enough to go to a university with so many opportunities for travel and experience. I saw a flyer for a dialogue to Lima and Cuzco, and I knew I wanted to be a part of it. I will be recording and recounting my experiences here and I'm excited to share them with the world.
